tips for email subject lines.
the email subject line is easily the single most important part of your email. why? because if your email subject line stinks, then no one is going to open and read your email anyways. so let’s start writing more intriguing email subjects - here are a few tips to get your emails back on track:
1) keep it short and sweet - just like me! aim for 50 characters or less, any more and it becomes a sentence.
2) use action-oriented language. using action verbs and other active language can help create a sense of urgency and direct your audience towards their next steps.
3) personalization. for the love of all things marketing please personalize your emails. use the recipient’s name or notes from a past conversation to create a sense of connection and relevance.
in-house tip: when building out automated email workflows, be sure to take full advantage of personalization tokens to give the recipient the sense of a personalized email. your automated emails shouldn’t feel automated.
