send and transfer large files free
need to send or transfer something big? so big that including it as an attachment in an email won’t work?
we’re talking high-resolution images, videos, design files, and things that you just can’t send normally through email.
we’ve got you covered. at in-house, we’re always working with design assets that have larger file sizes, so when we say we love these very amazing, and very very free solutions to transfer large files and documents, we mean it.
zip file - try this first!
before you try anything else, right click the file and select ‘compress to’ and then select ‘zip file.’ if your file is small enough, this will compress it and allow you to send it via email just as you normally would without using any other software. all the recipient needs to do is right-click the file and ‘extract’ it and they’re good to go.
wetransfer
wetransfer lets you send and transfer large files via email without ever creating a login. honestly, its magical. just enter the email of the recipient, upload your file and boom - done.
dropbox
dropbox has been around for a while and with their free basic plan (up to 2GB of storage) you’ve got the ability to upload larger files and send links to recipients for them to download direct to their devices.
google drive
if you’ve got gmail, you’ve got google drive. gdrive might be one of the easiest and most straightforward solutions. upload your document to gdrive, and then give access to your recipient via their email address.
